Default Ecoboost moving up

Looks like ford will be putting the 3.5L Ecoboost in Lincoln's Navigator.

I figured this would occur given the success of the EcoBoost thus far in other vehicles.

I hope Ford takes the next step and redesigns all of the Lincolns to be the brand they used to be instead of knockoffs of Ford vehicles...

I'm surprised they don't offer the EcoBoost in more of the Ford SUVs.

I think they are ramping down production of the 5.4 and once they are out of engines they will change them over to EB's.

From the article:

And, since Ford says EcoBoost engines will be available in 90 percent of its vehicles by the end of 2013, we wouldn't be at all surprised if more Ford/Lincoln offerings get 'Boosted soon.

Explorer and the Edge are both getting a 2.0 4 cylinder Ecoboost in 2012 or 2013 model year and will have more power than their current 3.5L V6 and of course better mileage.

Autoblog had an article earlier this week about them both and wasn't too impressed with it in the Explorer I guess due to its size, but LOVED it in the Edge and claimed 30mpg as well.

The current 3.5 in the edge is at 287hp I think.

The EB-4 is only rated around 250hp the last I read.

The 3.5 is horrible on gas. My dad has it in his fusion. Averages 18 mpg. Lots of power and torque though.
