This happens at different speeds, seems to only happen when cruise is engaged and when it increases the speed slowly to maintain the set cruise speed.

In that case it very well may be the plugs

Mine does this too. Only with cruise control on between 65-80. Easier to notice when on a slight grade.

My plugs are gapped. I was thinking it may be my tune, but maybe not.

Never experienced compressor surge???

It feels like the waste gates get into a rhythmic cycle or something.

I've tried watching the boost on my live wire. It does seem modulate up and down but it's too hard to read the digital gauge because it is always changing. Need an analog boost gauge.

Thanks

Very easy. Pull beauty cover off, undo coil bolt and wire, pull out plug.

Very, Very easy.

Check the color of the plugs for consistancy.

Best of luck

After re reading the OP's post I realized my symptoms are different.
I have surging when using cruising at constant speed under a slight load in 6th gear.

You can actually feel it accelerate and let off, accelerate and let off.....as long as its under a steady load. Its rhythmic. When its just maintaining on flat ground it doesn't surge.

It feels as if its building boost then blowing off etc. If I take it out of cruise its gone because the throttle not being modulated by the CC.

Not a big deal to me but may wear components unnecessarily??

Mine is the same way only does it in 6th gear on hills or little grades.I have not checked my plug gap and truck is bone stock.

I think I will try to change out the plugs and see if that fixes the issue. Can someone tell me the very BEST plugs to put back in the truck.
Thanks!

Stock! Gapped to 0.30"

And don't be scared to beat up the dealer on price, I got them for 50% of what they were listing them for. The cost is $3.67 or something like that. I got them for $4.50 each and they were asking over $8.00 each.

Default Throttle hunting on cruise

This is a datalog of the actual throttle position on my EB going up a hill with cruise on at 50 mph. I would be amazed if changing plug gap would correct a problem like this. My limited experiece with closed loop servo systems tells me it is a programming problem in which the system is unstable and hunting or oscillating.

Mine started as the 55-60 mph shudder under load(up a hill), then started it during slow acceleration, Ford did the 2 previous "CAC" fixes and it changed the shudder from 35-50 mph(5/6 gears) and then started misfiring bad upon heavy acceleration, as well as shuddered up hills.

I've only had the new CAC for 2 days, but all of these seem to have gone away, truck feels stronger, no longer have the constant boost dumping sounds under acceleration that I had after Fords previous 2 fixes. Pretty sure one of the previous fixes was to detune trucks until the permanent fix came out...cause mine runs like a raped ape again.
