Ecoboost impressions - after 700 miles
Have had the truck for about three weeks and really like this one. I think this truck will be a true performer. Te power is smooth and continuous, not peaks like I have had with other non turbo engines, just seems to pull from the first tap of the throttle to high RPMs. Really looking forward to hooking up the boat once it gets past 1K on the clock, think it will simply be a beast pulling a load. I have the Max Tow with the 3.73 rear end.
Only thing I have noticed is that when you are just lugging the engine around (very light throttle) it seems to have a little bit of what seems like slack in drive line. Not bad, and hoping it will simply work itself out with a few more miles.
Other than the above (and the above is minor), I love this truck !!!!!!!

I have experienced the same thing. If I am barely creeping and it downshifts from 2 > 1 it will clunk pretty good sometimes. I assume that's what you are talking about.

It is not bad an I believe that it will work itself out as it gets more miles, loosens up and learns through the adaptative programming. No worries - simply enjoying driving this truck - simply love this Ecoboost powertrain !!

One thing I love about new stuff... if you don't like your shift points, or the manufacturer decides they guessed wrong about something, or they get enough customer complaints... it's all under program control, so a fix is just a firmware update away.

The 6.2 does the same thing as well, not to worried though.sounds Like it is just the way the 1-2 2-1 shift points are programmed.
Congrats on the new truck!
