When you open the tb doesn't it pull air through there, again when not under boost?

How come diesels do don't have this issue? Honest question since they have turbos and an intercooler.

From what I've heard some have. This isn't a new issue to turbocharged vehicles.

I didn't know that. On my dads f350 with the 6.0 he never had this issues with 130,000. I used to drive a 08 f350 with the 6.4 and never had the issues in the 90,000 miles I put on her and 90% of those miles was towing a 10,000 lbs trailer.

I assume this happens less often on diesels?

Most of the time the intercooler is big enough to hold the condensation until it evaporates.

On my 6.0PS the intercooler is as big as the radiator, the inlet and outlet for the intercooler are in the middle so it will not pick up water off the bottom. Most of the time when i pull a intercooler off a diesel you will have a quart or more of oil/water setting in the bottom.

The ecoboost's intercooler is tiny in comparison. On paper its just the right size but obviously under the right conditions its under engineered. Just swap it out for a bigger one and your set.

I've never heard of it happening on the DSM cars or on the 3000GT/Stealths, those suckers only had intercoolers 1/3 the size of what this truck has.

According to that theory, dirt would never build up on the air filter either because there is no vacuum before the throttle body. Hmmm...
