Proves what was said along time ago that 3 or 4 drops of water will cause the misfire and all the software writing changes did was cause more difficulties and run issues. And all that was proved a long time ago when head gaskets leaked water into cylinders while running which of course was a different issue with the same outcomes. Removal of the PCV clean air water vapor and oil/combustion vapor to the turbo will also drastically reduce the problems and that simple knowledge gets a lot of peoples **** all in a wringer.

does anyone know if the post that goes thru the bracket for the inter cooler is solid or not. If it is hollow wouldn't this be a good place for it to drain?
Just wondering

If u drill a small hole thru it an weakens it thus breaking off u will need to buy a new CAC. Just a caution here.

Default Gunk

I have a 2011 F150 Ecoboost and have experienced some of the stuttering issues for over a year when pulling a long hill. I talked to the dealer service, and they don't seem to have a clue. Found this utube about drilling a 1/16" hole in the driver's side plastic part of the intercooler. At first nothing appeared sitting parked uphill on my driveway, but after driving around the block, I found a significant wetting of the area with a brown mixture of gasoline and oil (and probably water from condensate, but also noted that I smelled the same thing when I change my crankcase oil. I did notice that I had been experiencing and insidious loss of power prior to drilling the hole, as I was very pleasantly surprised at the strong and responsive acceleration after getting that gunk out. I am adding a "Oil Catch Can" on the "dirty side" (passenger side) of the PCV return to intake to capture as much of this goo as possible before it gets into the intake or the inter-cooler. The UPR Billet is about $139 on eBay, and looks like it should work fairly well. Since the "clean side" is evacuated over to the "dirty side", it should do a pretty thorough job, and I still have the intercooler hole to see how good of a job it is doing, and to keep the goo out of the intake. I am not an intercooler expert, so please feel free to let me know if I have erred in my logic. Thanks.

Removing the oil going to the intake will absolutely help the valves in the long run and removing the engine combustion byproducts going the other way under boost to the turbo and then the CAC will eliminate a great deal that will condense from the CAC. I chose the route of condensing it going to the Turbo under boost. It seems to do a great job. But that was my choice. My next choice is 2016 and 2.7 l in the spring.

Even if this doesn't completely fix my shudder issues (I think it will), I'm glad to get this crap out.

Drilled the hole tonight. Didn't take long (as advertised). Had the usual oily-feeling mixture come out. Nothing excessive. Would recommend. 10/10

Drilled the hole (1/16th) right before I left for Christmas. The picture is what came out after drilling the hole. I just ran 1500 miles in rain (east coast to midwest and back) and had no problems with the shudder.
