It would probably just be a leakage thing to the environment, reason for being sealed system to begin with. If it wasn't OEM would do it. So not to get caught would be smartest. State Inspection could be costly but if it is plugged for the inspection it is not a reason. It may be possible some states are quite nasty while others could care less.

I drilled the hole but did not remove the first TSB plates they installed. Haven't had a misfire issue yet, and I was to the point of sticking a match to it the misfires were so bad. Of course, the weather has changed and the humidity is low, so I guess the jury is still out till Summer.

The reason I want to remove the blocker plate is if you have the weep hole the pooling water has an escape. The blocker plate is now just reducing the efficiency of the CAC.

Sorry- misunderstood what you were talking about. I'll have to look at mine again. I know it is draining, but I'll look at it again. Thanks for the tip.

Oh please. These trucks come missing stuff and some with stuff it shouldn't have. Mass production invites human error. Hell my trucks passenger side steps were loose and only had 2 bolts holding it on. A brand new truck.

I know this first hand. My truck had interior trim for a Platinum on the rear door of my FX.

However this is no excuse for lying, which is what that is. Your original post reminds me of things my kids do, whom are 5 and 3 by the way.

Me: Who used crayon on the walls?

Kids: (Shugs shoulders) We dont know?

Dealer: Who drilled a 1/16" hole in the bottom of the intercooler?

You: (Shrugs shoulders) I dont know? Maybe a rock hit it and caused that perfectly round hole to exist? Oh I know! Maybe an angry factory worker drilled a hole in my intercooler to get back at his boss for being a jerk that day! You know, cause the bolts were loose on my running boards also.

The moral of the story is, act like a man.

Drill the hole if you want. However, prepare to face the possible issues from Ford with warranty work if an issue happens. Yeah, I drilled the hole, cause your design frankly sucks Ford. Never once have I had the misfire issue.

You misunderstood what I said. I was talking about removing the plate. Drilling the hole is obviously going to be something someone did purposely. That would be common sense. I drilled the hole on mine, removed the plate, and installed a catch can. Do I think or expect Ford to fix it if it breaks? No. Doesn't mean they won't. The chances are the common Ford mechanic isn't going to look for a pin size hole which could be place anywhere on the bottom of the intercooler.

I'm sure the Dealer Techs are aware of the hole and don't care as long as the Customer that had the problem is happy and not driving them nutz.
