Default EcoBoost baseline power numbers

Just picked up my '11 EcoBoost XLT on Wednesday.
Took truck to Livernois Motorsports in Dearborn Hgts MI to get it baselined before I get a handheld tuner/tune (when available)

318 RWHP and 347 ft/lbs of torque.

I'm pretty pleased with those numbers.

What gears do you have? Seems a shade low to me but who knows. Maybe you'll find another 10 once it breaks in fully.

3.73 rear

318 seems about right with 15% driveline loss.

It is low...Ford specs are:

  • Horsepower 365 @ 5000 rpm
    Torque 420 @ 2500 rpm

Maybe you know this, and don't care, but then again maybe you don't. As soon as you put a tuner on an EB, your warranty is out the window.

If you've not already seen it, you might take a look at this thread:

Those kinds of statements are industry wide. Not new news to me.
I've been modding vehicles for over 10 years so I realize the consequences. I like reliable power within very safe A/F ratios. I'm not one to try to squeek the utmost power out of a vehicle.

I think I'm smart enough not to bring in a wounded car claiming that it's completely stock.

I'm pretty pleased with those numbers.

It looks like the hp numbers are right on for drivetrain loss but I think the torque is a little low. it seems to me that the torque should be 20-25 points higher compared to the 5.0L. Heres a link to pickuptrucks.com where they tested a 5.0 and they dyno it because they felt it was under rated http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2011/02...liter-v-8.html. So it makes me wonder if ford is fluffing those numbers for the ecoboost.

You can get a tuner already. Since you are from Michigan check into Alternative auto perfomance. I talked to the owner (Lidio) the other day about tuning my truck (5.0L) he said he has not tuned any 5.0L on the trucks yet but he has tuned the 6.2 and the ecoboost. So here is a link to there website http://www.alternativeauto.com/index.html.

O and congrats on the new truck!!
