Ecoboost and 93- ITS ALL HYPE

I also hate cars that pull up behind me and you hear the fenders rattling off because of a booming stereo.
I guess it comes with age: "if it's too loud, you're too old" well yes I'm too old.
Give me a quiet truck any day. I'm not here to impress anyone.

Did Rotella start making T6 in 5W30?
If your running Rotella T6 5W40, You might want to rethink that...
I love Rotella, and run it in many of my moto's, but the EcoBoost spec's a 5W-30 oil. WSS-M2C929-A. Jumping to a 40 weight in the 3.5TT, even with a great synthetic like Rotella, probably isn't your best move.

That is definitely better than the Ecoboost, but we do make up for it in daily driving which my truck does more of.
Ain't that a bitch ?

I tow two different loads regularly with my 5.0L
1. a toy hauler with two ATV's inside - fully loaded 8,000 pound - 8.5mpg at 65mph
2. a small trailer with one ATV in the bed and one on the trailer - fully loaded 1,500 pounds - 17mpg at 65mph
not towing at all - 20mpg at 65 mph.
Now, as I've said in previous posts - it all depends on the head wind but these numbers are pretty consistent.

Barely shifts cruising the highway where V8s kick down and make noise...
Only way I'm gonna have any remorse is if it falls apart, otherwise I'm hooked on the driving characteristics of the Ecoboost

My light towing is with an 18' walleye boat and very little in the bed. I think the boat & trailer weight is around 2400 lbs.
Here in NY, cold weather takes a toll on mileage.

My results from 93 vs 87...
I'm getting about 1 MPG BETTER with the 93 AND it feels more "Peppy" - can't confirm the Butt Dyno (other than my butt), but I can with the MPG's. But nevertheless I'm filling up the truck with 87 cause of the price difference. I'll save the 93 on special occasions or when the Temps start to drop - Turbo engines LOVE lower Temps. Also, one thing I've noticed, I had to go through at least 1 full tank of whatever I was using for the ECU to recalibrate - how do I know, cause my numbers were WAY different on the 1st tank of gas than they were on the second of the same juice.
Anyways, your thread is false and it's probably cause your truck is a lemon or you didn't properly break it in - maybe both.

I've had 93 octane in my truck since my first fill up so I wouldn't be able to tells difference, however, my last fill up was with 0-ethanol 93 oct. There is a solid .5 mpg difference for the better and I have driven a great deal more city and alot of idle time. I will fill up at this same station every chance I get.
