Same situation with my 2012.

I never had a problem with shudder or mis-fire before the last couple of weeks. I think the combination of the cooler weather, Wagner intercooler, and 5 star tune was causing higher cylinder pressure and some misfires, most noticeable in 2nd gear WOT. I pulled my plugs after a pretty bad stutter this morning (cool and dry, so not condensation-related) and found gaps in the .036-.038 range. I tightened them to .030 and made several WOT pulls. It ran through the rpm range very smoothly with no sign of mis-fire.

This was with re-gapped stock plugs on a 2011 with 29,000 miles.

FWIW, mine were a piece of cake to do - far easier than a turbo LT1 F-body or 2nd Gen Lightning. The coils popped out easily, and the plugs were not seized. I used a spark-plug socket with the rubber insert, and used my free hand to steady the ratchet head thereby not applying stress to the top of the plug (this should be standard practice for everyone). Going back in, I applied a dab of never-sieze to the threads and snugged them up by hand using experience instead of a torque wrench.

Changed my plugs today on my 13. They all looked good with even color but the gaps were different on a few plugs. They ranged from .033 to .036 with 16k miles on them. I gapped the new Motorcrafts at .026 and now my 1200-1300 slight miss under boost in 6 th gear is gone.Smooth as silk even under full boost with my 91 5star tune. Anyone experiencing misses or stumbles under load especially with a tune should replace the plugs first before doing anything else.

agree with you, I run tight gaps on everything that's boosted.. there is no upside to gapping larger than 30thou

Ok I've read much of this and convince to take a look at plugs. I have a 2013 Eco 30K miles and stock tune.

Gaps mentioned here that I've seen range from .25 -.35 with the lower #'s having special tunes. I've not seen specifics for stock tune. At least nobody has said "Stock Tune you need these plugs with this certain gap.

Can someone please just line it out.

NKG #???gapped at ???
Motorcraft @??? Gapped at ???

Is Motorcraft the preferred? of NKG I know NKG at least used to make Motorcraft but read in this thread they're not the same plug.

Thanks

Ford changed the specs to .030 - .032. .030 works on all of them.

I ordered the Brisk Plugs from SSI, I've yet to decide what to gap them at and have heard many diff things also. I asked the "other" forum what to gap them at and 0.028.0.030 is what was recommend as I have a tune. But they also mentioned that every truck reacts diff so there is no telling what will work best but as ^ he mentioned .030 seems to work with almost EVERY truck... I'm going to start at .028 and go from there. I have a awful shake at idle and if that takes care of it and it runs good I'll stick with that .. If not I'm going to try 0.025 as I have a tune....

I see this thread is about a year old. I just bought a new 2013 eco back in Sept. Is Ford now using the new pre-gapped 0.32 Motorcraft plugs designed for the eco or do I need to purchase these or set the gap on my existing plugs? On my 2011 that I have since traded in for my 2013, I replaced the plugs with the new Motorcraft ones and those made a huge difference in idle and performance because of the pre-set gap.
