Eco spark plug gap

Just bought a set of 534's and the guy at the parts desk told me I would void my warranty if I put that plug in an f150 as it was not designed for the fuel mapping. I bought them anyway and will try and find time to install tomorrow. Hopefully it will fix the misfire and limp mode.

Installed the 534's today. The old ones were all gapped about 35 but that's because I set them there last august. Looked like junk though. All the plugs on the right side had soot on the lower half of the ceramic. Noticed a difference in idle immediatly and my 35mph and 55mph misfire under slight load is completely gone. Feels like a new truck!

Ok now here's a dumb question. What should the gap be .30 or ? I have seen so many different settings. I'm truing to find the best answer or gap. Going to check mine this weekend. Looking to find a better way to get better gas mileage. Also if you know a way to give me a better mpg please let me know. Thanks.

The only true thing (other than the truck having something wrong and its stock) is the right foot mod.
All others still depend on the right foot.

Bought them at dealer checked stock gap they were all at .030 so I left them alone and put them in. Took about 1/2 hr from start to finish. Here's what the old ones looked like.

The fouling/carbon buildup is likely from the ECU dumping more fuel to lower the combustion chamber temps. This happens with improper fuel volatility, but is likely due to the ethanol. Chances are these plugs are a step colder (NGK 7 heat range code.)

Haulin Bass!
I pulled mine last night and found a freaking nightmare of factory gapping. Ranging from .034 to .046. Lots of carbon build up. On the wider gapped plugs there were striped of clean insulator. To me that says spark out or spark back. I picked up some NGK's one step hotter and gapped them all to .032. Today, much smoother idle, better throttle response and a very little 6th gear stuttering.
