Default Eco spark plug gap

Seems to be many here finding a variance in their plug gaps and they are mentioned in many threads. Thought I would start one to maybe list your stock gap if it was indeed out.
If its out of spec and you changed it, let us know what it was and if it helped resolve any issues such as the 55 mph shudder and rough idle.
Stock is 0.035 and torqued to 133 in/lbs ( this was posted previously by another member, thanks!)

On this note, I did check mine today.
2 were at 0.039
3 were at 0.037
1 was at 0.036
I regapped all to 0.034
The 2 at 039 had a bit of carbon on the side electrode
I have the 55 shudder and will report back if it's any better.

for the torque of the plugs, i took it that you divide by 12 which gives you 11ft/lb when torquing. am i correct?

Nope. My torque ratchet is in in/lbs but that number is correct.
Or multiply the inches by .083

Be careful using a torque wrench at the extreme ends of the scale. They are most accurate when used in the "mid range" of their scale. But, for something like a spark plug, I'm sure you'll be fine. It's not a nuclear reactor after all.

Just a heads up.

So I didn't go too far this aft but I have noticed the idle is smoother. Mine was never terrible but still is noticeable. Hopefully I'll get a chance this week to hit some of the hills that I know causes the shudder.

Great thread. I tend to think that gap issues have something to do with the sporadic poor mileage, poor idle, and acceleration stumble that some people have but most people don't.

Finally people are taking time to look.

You might wanna add my videos to the main post as people constantly ask how to unplug the connectors.

Good idea but I can't do it. I do everything from my phone.
Maybe a mod can add them in.

It's certainly not difficult to check either. This thing was a dream to pull the plugs on :-)
