Re gaps: Thanks for the feedback. I've asked a tuner for his input and will let you know.

Re plugs: Plugs always go in with threads clean and dry. I've yet to use a torque wrench on a spark plug and have never had a problem with one cracking/breaking. If the inch-pound wrench is not calibrated you're taking a risk of investigating Heli-coils.

It wasnt the anti sieze...its the fact that i was overtightening them...i took them out and sure as **** they were cracked again. So i through spares in there and now it runs better than new (i'll get all the same plugs tomorrow). 11 ft lbs though, seriously ford? why is this?

Because more cracks the delicate plugs. It has a lot of thread surface area, makes up for the difference.

I have never used a torque wrench. Snug and tight, good to go, but my hand is calibrated.
Glad you sorted it out. This set of days off I'm going to pull my plugs and set the gap at .35. Happy medium on a stock engine.

Guys, seems to me the anti-seize shouldn't hurt, they're taper-seat, right? Unless you get the anti-seize on the seat, I used anti-seize on mine & no misfires. In fact, ran it's best "idle-launch" et today, 14.14 @ 97. That's equivalent to about a 13.80 if I'd stalled to 2600, (that's the difference I've found on 60' times-about .35).

just a heads up to everyone that is regapping there stockers, this is directly from the f150 workshop manual.

NOTICE: The spark plug gap is NOT adjustable. Damage can occur to the iridium tip if the gap is adjusted. Replace the spark plug if the gap is out of specification.

Well if the plug was damaged during regapping you would have a misfire so people adjusting stock plugs and still have a good running truck didnt do anything wrong. Plus they say the stock gap should be .035 and people are pulling them out and measuring a .040 gap. So people doing this are suppose to do what, go buy 60 bucks worth of spark plugs that arnt needed and have the dealer install them?
