I am trading my 2010 4x4 sscrew for a 2012 ecoboost set up the same as my present truck with 3.55. (IF FORD EVER DELIVERS THEM)
I am very disappointed in the mileage you guys are reporting. My present truck with a 4.6 averaged 18.6 mpg on a 6500 mile trip from Ohio to Washington State to the Grand Canyon and back to Ohio. This was over some high mountain passes as we visited four National Parks. Quite a few of the tanks averaged 20mpg.
THIS IS ALSO ALL ON PAPER, not the computer. I find the computer shows 1 to 2 mpg better then figuring each tank on paper.
If my new ecoboost truck doesn't do a lot better, I am going to be very disappointed. My present truck averages 16.0 in my normal short distance driving around home.

Perfect analysis!! It's all about how you drive and where you drive! Hard to compare oranges to oranges unless the trucks are being driven by the same people on the same routes. The EB will give YOU better mileage.
