Last I heard there was a tsb out on fans not kicking on during high demand. It was a PCM issue. No idea where I saw that though.

Hopefully, the Tech at the dealership can locate that TSB if it is out there?

I replaced the three radiator support air deflectors that were ripped and detached. Problem solved. This past weekend I looked at a friend's 2014 F-150 5.0L with 5000 miles and the passenger-side air deflector had torn loose from the frame. These things are a cheap cork material.

So it seems to me that it is near impossible to tow a grade at a reasonable speed? If I wanted to tow grades at 40 mph I would go buy a 97 f250 with a 460 gas motor in it. I feel that our tech has come far enough we should be able to tow grades at a reasonable speed (65) and not worry about overheating. I don't think we should have to buy radiators and CACs to tow less that the tow rating of the vehicle but maybe that is just me? I was in love with the truck until my towing experience. Debating now on getting rid of it...

next time jsut lock out 6th or maybe 5 and 6 and let the motor rev more at that will lower boost. it will move power back onto the motor rather then the turbos.

ohh, well that'll do er. i try to get a semi good running start and gear down to 4th or so in my 5.0 and let it spin up to 3.5-4K rpms and she's rean just fine, but in a slow ( following semi uphill) situation that would be different. you got me out of knowledgeable answers. hope you get your problems solved! minus initital cost, if u can swing a 6.7 psd f350 that would really solve ur probs, but if its a DD with occ. twoing duties id try and work with what you have.

You'd be far ahead just getting a few aftermarket parts rather than trading it in.

I wonder if Ford changed the fan specs when they did the PCM reflash for the water build up in the CAC during wet weather driving.

That is what I am hoping, but I don't want to throw away 800 bucks on a radiator and then it still have the issues its having.
