The IC will drop intake air by 20 degrees or more. The 87 PT tune with 91 gas should not be the problem, but without Max Tow, you don't have the maximum cooling solution. I tow a 9500 lb trailer and, with Wagner IC and tow tune, the only time my temps started to rise was on a 7 or 8 mile mountain grade in Wyoming and that was temporary after I dropped my speed a little.
Talk to Full Race about increased cooling. Any of the aftermarket ICs should help, but you need more than that. Meanwhile, if you have any of the added IC heat shields from misguided TSBs, remove them. The top one is the only one that should remain.

Thanks all. Hauler is an Attitude CBG27 rated 7k dry, and I only carry 1 big and 1 small MX bike + the usual gear/gas/tools in it. Never tow with water, and load light. I've scaled it and I'm usually around 8k, as high as 8500. I have the Max Tow but not the HD package, rated at 9700 lb. Trans temps never get over 210 even under highest ambient air temp. It's only coolant temp that goes to top of scale, and only when ambient air is 100+ and towing up a long grade. Tune is the 5 Star Tow tune - I bought it specifically for the way I use my truck. I could care less about Performance tunes (I have bikes to go fast on!). I don't see how a new t-stat will help as I'm sure the stat is wide open anyway. I might try some water wetter. Forgot about that. I'll also make sure that the rad and intercooler are clean w/o any debris in there. I think it's simply a matter of being in the turbos for so long at such high ambient air temps that I'm overwhelming the stock cooling system. I'd think best solution would be a much thicker than stock rad - 4 core or something. More coolant capacity, more heat rejection capacity. BTW, next truck will be a 3/4 ton. I'm on the edge with this one as I've learned through experience.

Since it is a tow tune ignore those of us blaming the tune. Though it may be worthwhile to have them check some logs.

I tow in Wyoming all the time, where we have long steep inclines state wide. I found the trick is to lock out 5th and 6th and let the engine be higher in the RPM's. Seems counter intuitive, but not lugging the engine and letting the gearing work in your favor goes a long way.

Slowing down helps too...

I think that goes along with what Ford says to do in sand. Low range, rev'd higher, so you don't bog it down over longer distances.
An overly warm tranny will pull up the coolant temp due to how they are a shared system (sharing the air that cools them).

I believe full race has an oil cooler kit that is supposed to correct the high temps you are seeing while towing

Get it in a lower gear, Higher RPM, and keep the turbo's spooled up. This will decrease EGT's and reduce your temps.

Dumbest thing I've heard all day^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You don't understand the simplest thing about cooling systems but you are a tuner? That's scary.

If that's really the dumbest thing you've heard all day, I'll gladly trade lives with you. I've heard dumber things before making it to my morning ****.
