But wouldn't it make more with catless downpipes or catted for that matter. I'm sure the 3" makes as much power as the 4" but the OP wants sound. I just don't think the 3" is better for sound than 3.5 or 4".

you have posted in almost every thread i see that you prefer the 3.5" or 4" - and thats fine, however you have zero experience with Full-Race products or our exhaust ... so agree to disagree

I'm trying to stay away from that 6cyl sound if at all possible, just looking to make the turbo louder out the exhaust. Don't think I could listen to raspy exhaust tone when driving all day.

to the OP,
Start off with a catless and/or catted downpipe. (shameless Plug coming up) For the catless look into our 3in bolt-on Mandrel bent Y-Pipe.(Link) Get the right tune for it with an SCT Programmer, the 3015(XF3) is tried and true and affordable. The Livewire is the one for you if you are a gadgetty person. The SCT gives you a world of options for tuners. Starting off in this manner lets you build the exhaust to suit you in which ever way you want. If you do the catback first and then end up getting a mid-pipe, you may be surprised to find out that you don't like your catback any more.
After the mid-pipe, maybe look into a catback exhaust. The chambered muffler Stainless Works Catback is one of the best sounding when used with a y-pipe. My best advice is to listen to clips online. Take the sounds with a grain of salt. but you can at least get a feel for what sounds like what.

I've listened to damn near every clip on utube and came up with either FR 3' cat back or SW cat back. I'm going to make my mind up and order one one em this week. Will it be ok to run my cai and catback w/o a tune??
