thanks
its a bit of a help, but i cant tell if the tube for the coil on plug and spark plug.
I was curious if the tube is O-Ring sealed to the water jacket in the upper head,
really curious where the coolant came from in the #3 spark plug tube

Wait, you have coolant where IN the spark plug tube/hole? 9 times out of 10 when that happens, a blown head gasket is to blame. Not always, but there is no liquid seal created by a spark plug boot or anything like that. No fluids of any kind should get through there without something being pretty seriously wrong.

My thinking as well...the only thing I can think of that would cause that would be a blown head gasket or cracked head.

But...possibly and hopefully, the coolant is leaking from somewhere else on the engine (loose hose clamp, etc.) down into the spark plug hole...

Hard to tell by that picture, I remember the 5.4 had an issue where the heater hose connected to the core was right above the #4 coil and leak would cause it to short out. I'd be looking for a loose hose clamp as already mentioned.

took her back this morning and the area was DRY,
tech pulled the coil and we eyeballed the hole and it was dry.
the heater hose connection was dry, no leaks on the white cloth over night
i suspect now ..maybe some sort of splashing ??????

either way did a over 100 mile sustained at 75 mph plus drive and no issues other than the a/c freezing me out

Went through a few coils due to the heater hose leaking at the core. It finally gave out and popped off while driving down the highway.
