E85 fuel on 93 perf. tune. Is it safe for the 5.0?

Ask your tuner! The octane is there but I don't know how they compensate for the additional fuel in the aftermarket tunes. E85 is going to require more fuel or you will be lean, but the stock computer might take care of it for you.
Personally I would have them write a tune for E85 and really turn the timing up!

I was told that my best bet was to go to a dyno shop to get the E85 Tune there. According to the place where I bought the tuner, there is quite a bit of work writing the E85 Tune, requiring a lot of logging and stuff. Does anyone already have a tune for E85 for the 5.0?
Getting a dyno tune is about $500. I'd rather pay for a tune already written for $100.

It's hard to say exactly because my e85 is from JLP and the 91 is from 5star. The trans tuning so so different that I can't really tell which really makes more power. I'm going to go to the track this Saturday and see what I can get with the e85 tune. That should give me better insight to it.

Cool. Keep me posted on how the e85 tune does on the track. I'm hitting a 1/8 mile drag strip tomorrow. I'll post some time slips with my canned tunes. Hopefully I get my email before the races start. If not, I gotta run down the e85 in my tank so I can run with regular fuel with the canned tunes.

My E85 tune is incorporated into my daily tune. I worked with my tuner when I first got the truck and he found the timing tables that the computer uses when running E85. I use Advanced Engine Development (AED) for my tuning.
