Driving style to maximize ecoboost mpg

Driving style to maximize ecoboost mpg
I just got a 2011 platinum ecoboost and I am trying to maximize fuel economy
Maybe I am getting old but those dang green bars are addictive to try and increase or hold at a high level.
I am averaging 17.3 mpg which is fair but I would like better
Logic would tell me that the slowest acceleration to a given speed would result in the most mpg
However I have noticed fuel economy sucks with even the slightest throttle input, so that means a longer period of poor fuel economy
so I wonder if I would get better fuel economy with more of a moderate acceleration to the same given speed
Am I over analyzing?
Thoughts?

I've found moderate accel is better than very slow accel. Get up to speed and cruise.
Run the same course a few times and reset your ampg to see for yourself.
Or just never get off the freeway. I get as much as 27mpg there.

27mpg? Where's my face palm meme?
Just drive it. There are so many factors at play that there is no exact science to it. This has been covered in the 2,345 other threads on this.

Going from North San Diego County to the border it'll show 27.5. Off freeway to do deliveries and back to North San Diego and it'll be at 26 or better. My truck loves the freeway. 27 from San Diego to LA. Many times. Come for a ride and I'll show you.

You told the OP to get a tune and by the looks of your signature you have a tune and a lot of other mods that surely cost quite a bit of money yet you only gained 3/10 of a mpg more than him?
What am I missing in this equation? You would have to drive a million miles to break even

I have found this method to work better also, you spend less time in the boost this way.
