That was on my 2011. My 2013 is so far so good.

I have a brand new 2014 Crew 4x4 with 6.5' bed and mine is doing the clunk at boths stops and starts. The Ford Service Advisor and Mechanic at the dealership, replicated the problem and then lubed the U-joint. It did not correct the problem and so now they are telling me it is "normal". This is very disappointing. I had more faith in Ford than this.

My 2WD has it. It was fixed twice under warranty and it's back again. They ordered me a new driveshaft this time.

If I take my truck in now and they lube it, and in a few weeks when my powertrain warranty expires and it starts again, will they continue to fix it, or say tough luck?

My 2011 was the same way. Ford replaced the driveshaft and it went away. Lunging the U-Joint which they did the first time, did not work.

Default second post - drive shaft clunk

I posted this on another thread - but it's worth it again in case someone else finds it - it worked!

I have a 2010XLT 2wd screw, 61k miles - and found this here:
TSB: 12-7-13
Article Supersedes TSB 10-22-06 to update part list

some 2009-2012 F-150's equipped with 2-piece drive shaft only and built on or before 7/30/2012 may exhibit a rear driveshaft slip/bump concern on light to moderate acceleration from a stop or when coming to a stop with light braking.

The list below are parts used with TSB 12-07-13:
1ea. 9L3Z*4421*A Boot
1ea. 9L3Z*3B478*A Clamp
XG*8* Lubricant – Teflon

brought this to my mechanic, and while doing other maintenance, the directions of this TSB took care of the clunk. now it's like it's new.

Default Driveshaft clunk

Just had my 2012 splines repacked at 51,000. Same clunk from dead stop.
Service adviser said it was the only fix available. Maybe the new grease there using will keep it quiet for another 50K.
