Drilled condensation hole without pre-existing issues

There is a downside --> Unfiltered air source at a location with rather dirty air. Engine is pulling vacuum much of the time. Just something to consider.

The intercooler is not in vacuum

Yes, it is a leak but apparently not large enough to cause the engine to not run well. There is a MAP sensor pre- and post- intercooler so the engine ECM has no trouble compensating for losses.

I have a 5.0 so it doesn't affect me, anyway....just curious. I got sick of dealing with forced induction problems after my last car.

Opinionated Blowhard
After multiple condensation issues with my 11, I chose to drill the hole as a preventative. I don't worry about dirt or debris because it isn't in vacuum very much. Even cruising, there is a small amount of positive pressure (the turbos don't quit spinning at cruise speeds) that keeps any issues with airborne contamination at a minimum. And if it is a problem the simple solution is to attach a small filter element to the CAC.
