Default Downpipes or gutted cats

Can one do anything so truck won't throw a code if you gut the cats? Or will it?

You will need a tune if cats are tampered with.

It will throw a code for the cats not heating up on the stock tune. They just turn off the part where its looking for that temp in the tune. The sensors still read the temps the computer just doesn't have a threshold to look for.

I see your truck is a 2012 so expect grief from the dealer if you need any warranty work on your ride if you do want you want beyond a cat-back system. Just saying.

Doesn't work like that. Its looking for the cats to warm up and cycle.

I know, that's why I was asking. I'll just have to put up with them.
