This is something I will agree with you on. you can not read the encrypted files on a sct tune period.

As for our feelings about ssi lets just agree to disagree

In before the lock.

Some of the attitudes in this thread is too bad. Lots of personal attacks.

People have been really good at not posting garbage in the SSI review thread to keep things clean. Too bad personal attacks are made when a negative review goes out. It is ok to post both sides, like mentioned every story has two sides. But let's leave the personal attacks and name calling out of this please.

Another winning thread. .. posting a rebuttle is pointless. I don't sell tunes... I do my own stuff and that's where it ends..... it's not hard to believe if you ever looked beyond a board for Ford...

It's hard for me to even be irritated. It's just a tantrum at this point. I'd be happy to forward anyone the emails if anyone questions when things happened, or how I came across.

You have no need to prove yourself to anyone rockhound this is not the first time this has happened and will likely not be the last. . But be prepared if you post anything negative at all to be attacked by.
You are perfectly entitled to your opinion and to share your story.

I've had an SSI tune for under a month now and love it so far. I will say Shawn is pretty unresponsive to emails, but if you catch him on the phone he's pretty dang quick. I can understand both sides, and it sounds like a ****ty situation.

This is true.

I find it laughable that someone says they can build a better tune on their own. If you can, you should open a business. I also think asking for free upgrades is also unrealistic at the prices being charged and nobody ever see free lifetime upgrades, or if they did I never saw it.

To the op, I kind if understand and kind of don't. I do think there is a middle ground here and waiting so long to return to the situation is a problem. You've moved on, so enjoy your new tune. Too bad you will never enjoy the strength of a well operating ssi tune as I've found it to be the best by far of the several name tuners I've used. Ymmv of course.

Do not mistake presenting another side of the story (with facts) as an attack.

Let's put this a different way:

A guy is told repeatedly to make phone calls because that is the very best way to interact with the person who has written a tune for his ~45K truck and he choses to communicate otherwise.
A guy cannot get hose clamps tight and has a turbo leak - and blames a tune.
A guy is told to and yet cannot change and correctly gap spark plugs and has a rough running truck on a performance tune.
A guy receives an incomplete product from a company that was known to not ship complete kits and blames a drop-shipper rather than address the issue with the manufacturer.
A guy gets "fed up," sells his programmer and considers selling his truck. A half a year later, that guy buys a new programmer and wants, no expects, the tuner to send him his old file and start from there. He has the option of starting fresh for a measly $90 for 2 tunes from the top tuner on the platform - and get this - complains about it.
Several guys who continue with the ax to grind jump and play in the mud - because that is what they like to do.
Another guy starts spewing all over the place about his tuning prowess, putting down the tuner who is on top and has been called out by those who know ... and still pushes forward.

AND

Those are the people who others ought to take advice from / base purchasing decisions on??? Really? Nah. We aren't that ****-backwards, are we?

I am all for sharing of opinions and experiences and equally it is just as OK to present back to people that they were their own worst enemy, Isn't it?

As for our feelings on SSi - you Geno know who is there and know the quality and character of the guys who frequent that community.
