Post Different OEM "tune" on 2013 vs 2011

I recently switched from a 2011 to a 2013, both XLT 4X4 3.7's. I had a Rousch intake, and Resonator bypass on both.
I noticed that the 2013, in addition to many other differences, definitely has less bottom end torque. The throttle is as responsive, but it jumps down a gear or 2 more readily. The sharper transmission response / tune makes the truck feel at least as responsive, but it downshifts more often for sure.

On my previous 2011, I had noticed since the day I bought it, when I got on the throttle, there was a slight, low frequency rattle, which I assumed was light knocking, but never really gave it much more thought. The new truck doesn't seem to do this. It could be that because it's so much quieter, I don't hear it, but it seems to just go for a lower gear, as opposed to loading up the engine as heavily.

Has anyone else noticed this sort of difference between a 2011 and 2013? From what some of the EB owners have been saying, it sounds like the EB may have a slightly milder factory tune now as well?

I traded in a 2011 FX2 EB on a 2013 Platinum EB. Both have the same manners, get almost the exact same mileage, and feel the same way while driving around. No difference in anything that I have noticed.

I do know that the 13 EB's have slightly different larger turbo wheels and as a result, seem to be a little louder than the 11 was, but that's about all I have noticed. That and the Platinum is WAAAYYYY nicer

A friend of mine traded his 11 in for a 13 and he swears it doesn't run as hard. I'm also convinced the traction control is more finicky in the new ones based on the couple 11's I've driven vs mine.

My 2011 got 2-3mpg better fuel economy- both max tow and 3.73.
On my 2013 the cooling fan is very loud- I could never hear it on my '11.

Run E85 in in UR 3.7 when the temps go way back up. Let it learn some more use tow/haul. U will discover it has 2 stages of passing, one where it doesn't shift down so hard when U feather the throttle naturally, it will do 4th or 3rd. U get the same results if UR not quite so quick. U pull around the car ahead quite nicely.

Not sure how this relates to the OP's post about difference's between '11 and 13' ecoboosts?

The 3.7 is one vehicle and the EB is another. Use tow/haul when working them.

Especially if it is 108 degrees out on the bricks.

I believe U can observe the same type of passing with the EB if U ease up on the throttle some.
Sorry, I didn't read his post close enough. He was asking about the 3.7 in the first question then the ecoboost in the second

I traded my 2011 5.0 in on a 2013 5.0. The 2011 was an XLT 2wd 3.31, the 2013 is an XTR 4wd 3.55. I can say that the 2013 "feels" smoother but it might just be me suffering from new truck syndrome. The new one likes to shift into 5th a little more frequently but considering it weighs more being a 4wd its understandable. I don't really notice any difference in throttle response or power delivery. Both trucks are smooth as glass and run like bats outta hell when you punch the throttle.
