Default 3.5 EB rough idle

I have a 2011 EB and when at idle it has a good shake to it BUT you can only really feel it on the passenger side. For service guys (personal friends of mine) say it's normal cause their trucks do it but I find it hard to believe that it's a normal thing ... I believe that their trucks do it cause I sat in theirs but I believe there has to be a fix for it. I can't imagine for would put something like this on the market and think it's ok. Anyone else experience this issue ?? My thoughts are a miss fire but it's not throwing any codes ....

Check you spark plug gap. Some have seen with The 2011-2012 plug gap any where from .035-.042. Needs to be .030. I bet thats your issue. Ford changed plugs in the 13s.

Ok, they are saying that there are up dates for the 2011... Well see what that does. Also could this effect power and millage ??

I had my 12 KR EB in for it's 30K service and mentioned the rough idle. The service advisor gave me the same 'oh, they all do that' crap. I told him that was absolute crap and you're simply trying to avoid warranty work. He went on about the 5.4 and it's idle quality, etc...again, I told him it was crap because this isn't a 5.4.

Check the plug gap like it was stated earlier.

I ordered a set of Motorcraft SP-534 plugs from Rock Auto, checked to be sure they were gapped at .030, took them to the dealer and said to install them. My OEM plugs were missing at 40K so bad I could hardly pull my camper uphill. Two of the plugs were shot and all were outside even the original spec, much less the new spec of .030-.032. The plus of the dealer installing them is they check for misfires and bad coil packs after. Smooth power afterward.

Regapping the old plugs cured my rough idle, brought all down to .030 when the truck was six months old. I have since replaced them with the SP534's gapped to .028 and its even smoother.

TwinSix,

Let me know how your dealer visit goes. I'm more than happy to lend a hand if you still need help after they've taken a look.
