I was in Detroit (Dearborn) last week, checking out the new ecoboost stuff.. there's some exciting and impressive things coming. Im not able to give any details until after SEMA but good things are happening. I can tell you the 3.5L EcoBoost will continue to be the "Flagship Powerhouse Engine" for the forseeable future. here is a public video that you may find interesting: http://truckyeah.jalopnik.com/see-ho...eve-1584827637

thanks Mike, these Oil cooler kits fit V8 and V6 engines, direct bolt on. If youve ever trailered a heavy load - especially through the desert in the summer time then you may have seen your coolant and oil temps getting warm. This air-to-oil core is the only way we successfully got our FreakoBoost's temps under control. Most hardcore off-road trucks who run the ecoboost engines are using a similar cooler configuration to this.

Your F-150's OEM oil cooler is an air-to-water unit mounted at the oil filter housing. It uses engine coolant to warm and cool the oil. This works well for getting cold oil quickly up to temp. However if the engine is loaded and the water gets 'hot' the OEM cooler will act as an oil heater, overheating both fluids. *Our thermostat controlled Air-to-Oil cooler does not cool engine oil when cold (hence the tstat). It provides oil cooling only when the engine is up to temp.

-intake is being revised slightly. We have the first small production run here, and the performance did not disappoint - but Im not satisfied enough to sell any quite yet (there was room for improvement). If you take a look at all the new EcoBoost engine airbox designs, you can probably guess what we are changing..

-for all international orders, please call or email Full-Race. Jeremy@full-race.com is a good guy to speak with/email in regards to F150 and ecoboost questions

-SCT made some major software revisions/updates, we've been requesting this for a long time. I dont have an answer on ETA for the canned tunes yet (been waiting patiently on these software changes). While we offer custom dyno tuning on vehicles in-house, its a different story before we are comfortable mailing a tune out, and their software is still maturing

-remove the swirly things. They are called "Attenuators" and serve to only make the turbo "whooshing noises" quieter.

Mike, I've ordered a few FR items to me up here in Whitehorse - if you haven't pulled the trigger yet and still want to, drop me a line; they don't do a lot of international business so there's a few extra hoops you may have to jump through.

It's worth it though!

Geoff, at this point is it a new SCT tuner that your waiting to get your hands on and test the changes they made?
Or its software issues in the current tuner that need to be fixed before you send your tunes out?

A friend of mine "Marty" has been over to your shop a few times and has nothing but amazing things to say about the quality and expertise and just all out wild builds he has witnessed.
I take heed when he speaks highly about something. So I've been patiently waiting for the Full Race F150 Ecoboost tunes to become mail order available and will continue to do so.

Also, do you recommend a specific type or brand of oil catch can for the PCV system? Is the Freak-O-Boost running a catch can?

Shawn.

Our Freakoboost F150 has a one-off catch can we fabricated. We have a list of products that are coming to market (catchcan is one of them) but in the meantime if you wanted something the RX seems like a good option. a lot of people dont like waiting for us to release our new products, and thats fine I can totally understand, but we do not like to prematurely release products to market for obvious reasons

Hey Geoff since we are over here in AZ and not a whole lot of moisture am I hurting my engine by not having a catch can?

there is no 'harm' in not using a catchcan. However, the moisture and oil that accumulate inside are actually a byproduct of engine combustion (crank case vapors). It is not a result of moisture in the atmosphere.

The 'shudder' (that you may be confusing this with) occurs in wet/rainy environments is more due to dew point, and the intake drawing in air from the wheel well.

Well ordered a Full race 3" resonated exhaust from jeremy at FR.
Want to order a intercooler now. Just have a couple of questions again?

- Will there be any performance difference in keeping the stock blow off valve or upgrading to the tial Q

-what is louder the stock bov or the tial q. I want it to be louder then stock.

- one member said he went from a 10 psi spring to 8 psi for it to be louder. Would that hurt performance?

I have a 2013. Thanks again guys

I have the FR on my '13, with it VTA it's loud. I don't believe the Tial would be any louder but if you cut the silencer can off the stock one then it sounds better. There would be no performance gains with a aftermarket one, if anything just more reliable vs the factory one. But if you think about it, these trucks go 10's of thousands of miles with no issues so if save the money and invest it elsewhere and run the factory one with the silencer can cut off.

As far as my intercooler goes, it pulls harder in the upper rpm's in 2nd-3rd since it keeps the temps lower and timing up! I'm happy as can be with mine!
