Sorry I have been absent for a few weeks. Went and test drove all three engines about a week ago. Drove the EB FX4 with max tow and the same truck with the 6.2( that engine is a beast). They only had a few 5.0 but I was pretty impressed with it. Given the 5.0 has 3.55 gears and the other ones both had 3.73. I thought the 5.0 felt about the same as EB, and the 6.2 just put a big s**t eating grin on my face ( so the 6.2 was out, way to much fun). I bought a lariat with the 5.0 love it so far drove to Nashville and back about 500 miles and averaged 18.2 doing 80 or so, around town it hangs out around 14.5 to 15. But I am still getting use to the sound and the power so hopefully that number will go up. Thank to everyone that put their 2 cents in.

Congrats on the new truck. Although I think you need to get the ole B.U.T.T. Dyno re-calibrated if you can't feel an extra 50hp and 100lb-ft of torque.

Congrats on your new truck but the difference between the EB MaxTow and the 5.0 can only be felt when you are towing a heavy load. Either way you found a truck your happy with and that's all that matters. Enjoy!!

I will have to disagree with you on that. I could tell the difference that the EB had more power even coming from a 3.55 5.0L Scab to a 3.15 EB Scab as soon as I hit 2nd gear pulling out of the parking lot when I picked up my new work truck. They are noticeably different in normal driving. Wide open throttle, not so much.

I agree, i noticed a big difference in power when i test drive an EB with a 3.31 versus a 5.0 with a 3.55.

Congrats on the truck OBG. I'm sure the 5.0 will serve you well. I own two, and so far they have both done well. One has 8K, and the other 13K.

It hurts to see people talk about stock eb. Fords stock tune is garage. You haven't drove an eb until you drive a TUNED eb!!!

As nice as tuned is and yes I've had gods tune. Mine is stock again and might just stay that way. There is nothing wrong with these trucks stock for the average guy it will be plenty.

Tow tune would make buying an eb over the engines way easier. I tow alot with my truck and going stock to tune is definitely night and day.
