Default Decision time! 3.5 or 6.2

Going to order a new lariat sat. an want some honest input! hear alot of good about this ecoboost but started out wanting the 6.2.Now I wonder if the eco boost isn't better way to go! Which gears are a tough one to. 3.55 or 3.73? Will be towing a22' foot boat about 200 miles several times a year. It weighs around 6300#. any input is appreciated!

Picked up my EB lariat last night... 373 electronic locking rear. 373 is the way to go if you are pulling anything with decent weight . EB has the torque of the 6.2 and I am getting 16 mpgs in stop and go traffic. I battled with the decision on all the engines.. Can't lose with it. Very powerful, smooth and quiet.

If it were me, I would go with the 3.5 and the 3.73's. With towing like you said, you will be disappointed with the 3.55's.

Towing like that get 3.73 for sure. As for the engine, the 3.5 gets my vote. It'll have enough power for a 22' easy and still get some decent gas mileage when not. The 6.2 not towing will only get 16 tops. Should hit 20 or a tad more with the eb.

Great input guys! The fuel mileage was a big factor also! I haven't test drove the 3.5 yet. Hope it is everything that i'm reading about!

If you're only towing 6300 pounds a few times a year, why not consider the 5.0L? There's no huge price premium like there is on an EB upgrade. I tow upwards of 8,000 lbs about 10-15 times a year (Toy hauler with two ATV's inside) So far, I'm getting 20 mpg on the highway, about 16 mpg around town and there's plenty of towing power. Of course towing is much less - around 10mpg. Plus you can mod it if you want. The EB cannot be modded in any way and NOTHING sounds as good as a V8 with a magnaflow!

My 2 cents - good luck on your decision.

6.2....go big or stay home...why you buying a big truck if your worried about gas mileage...people spend $40K on a new truck and then complain that it cost $100 to fill it up...I don't get it ??

^^^ That's why the EB is so great! You can have the power and the mileage too!

Personally I chose the 6.2. Love the power and the sound. Don't care about fuel mileage. Also wanted the 36 gal fuel tank. Can't get that with the EB.
