Debating between which engine

I think this statement might be a little biased.
Turbo motors have a long history of easy hp with few mods. EB's with just a tune are picking up a minimum of 30 rwhp. Turbo motors also generally respond better to exhaust and intake mods. It is very likely that the EB will gain 50 - 70 rwhp without going into the motor or turbo's. They will be making 400 rwhp soon, while only gaining low-end torque. How does 500 ft-lb at 2500 rpm sound? And since when are people "blowing up your turbos"? Turbochargers are extremely reliable even when pushed hard.
The 5.0 on the other hand is already a little weak on low-end and making well over 1 hp/ci, meaning additional power won't be easy to come by. So you can add some Mustang parts and gain up to 45 hp, but be prepared to lose even more of that beloved truck low-end torque (have you driven a 5.0 Mustang?) plus have to go well into the engine to do it and spend a lot of money.

I think you are being far too optimistic about the capabilities of the stock turbos. you want to see 400whp, you're into replacing turbos. and if your turbos are so reliable, why is Ford voiding warranties if you so much as add an intake or exhaust due to potential issues with the turbos?
as for weak on the low end, stop being such an EB fanboy, the 5.0 is fine.
as for the 5.0 mustang, have you ever driven one? I have, runs like a scalded dog.

I had a 5.7 Tundra (stronger low end than the 5.0 Ford) and the EB blows it away down low. And yes, I have driven a 5.0 Mustang and yes, they are weak down low. My brother describes his as having a "european" sports car power range that is weak on low-end but strong up top.
And stop being such a 5.0 fan boy.

You start modding and increasing boost...you better know what the limits of cylinder pressures are for this aluminum engine/aluminum head. Beyond that fuel maps will need to be tweaked and with the peizo injectors (Bosch) which spray anywhere from 200-2150 pounds. I am sure the stock ECU and "Bosch Brain" will handle small increases in boost with no issues, but beyond that you are treading on dangerous ground.
It looks like Ford is going to be very diligent when it comes to warranties and the EB...paying close attention to boost pressure increases and mapping...just sayin'
