Default Dealer messed truck up???

I have a 2013 F150 FX2 5.0 motor that hit 16,000 miles. I took it yesterday to dealer for oil change. After 1 hour they advised me it was ready and that it was sitting outside. When I start the truck with my door open I notice a slight metal on metal sound coming from the driver side wheel well. Its not a constant taping sound. It more like its morse code. I called the service adviser. They take the truck, They came back 30 mins later and said. They hear the sound. Sounds like it coming from the bottom of the motor by the oil pain. They confirm its coming from the motor. I had 2 options.. Leave truck and let them dig into it or come back on Monday and drop the truck off. I left with the truck but will be returning on Monday. I spoke to a buddy mechanic and he said something is wrong and he believes they ran my truck without oil. He said maybe the tech started the truck and then realized he forgot the oil.. What do you all think?

I would think It would have to run for a while without oil to do any real damage. Everything is still coated and lubed up.

I thought the same thing. Maybe they used the wrong oil or not enough. It was filled when I checked. SO I personally changed the oil and used 5w20 synthetic... Nothing. Sounds the same. No change...

And it wasn't doing this before you took it in? If not, then they had to do something to F it up.

I took in the truck in for a normal oil change. I have there service plan. When I got the truck back from the service, I heard the noise. I told them and they took truck back. They came back and said it was coming from the motor. They said leave it today so they could look more into it or come back Monday as I had things to do. But later that same day I thought maybe they used the wrong oil. So that day I also changed the oil but no change in noise. But what makes me mad I never heard the noise until they changed the oil today...

Ok I got ya now.

If I were you I wouldn't have changed the oil. It just gives them a cop out and now your out that money. I realize what you were doing but I would have left that up to them.
