Data logging vct on ecoboost
I have been data logging my VCT on 2013 ecoboost and it keeps dropping out on me on a stock tune. My VCT drops to 0 under wot for about 3/4 of a second a couple times between 0- 90 mph. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had a similar problem. My truck was cutting out bad when I would go wide open. I didn't catch it on the logs because I didn't know the correct values for vct anyway. It started on a mpt tune. Then I switched to sct then stock. It got worse with every tune change. Mpt also didn't catch it in the logs. They could not figure it out and suggested I take it to the dealer. After working with me relentlessly tho trying to figure out what the hell was going on. The truck finally threw a code after about two weeks. I actually had an appointment at the dealership that day but called and cancelled after I figured it out. It was a camshaft position sensor intermittent code. I found one of the sensors half unplugged. There are two gray and black sensors on top of the passenger side valve cover towards the back next to the firewall. It was one of those. I plugged it back in fully and it's ran fine ever sense. Mpt emailed me about a month later asking what I did to fix the issue because they had a customer describing the same problem. They said they went back and looked at my logs and knowing what to look for now they saw my vct dropping to 0 and pretty much staying there through the whole log. I never did ask them if their other customer got his truck figured out. I would look at those sensors and possibly replace them if you've exhausted every other option. Hope this helps.

I will hazard a wild one and say the tune uses 0 VCT for its programming and doesn't care about smog and all that the VCT is designed to do replacing the EGR syst;em
