Custom tunes with the 5.0 and cooling fans

Absolutely, the cooler, the better. Your tune will work with the stock T-stat, too though it will make less power in hotter weather and/or more aggressive driving.
T-stat swaps are messy but no big deal... there are guys that swap back and forth where seasons have a fairly marked difference in temps.
We are demanding more of the engine with these tunes so I support the compensation of cooling - it's just smart.

I did the 170 T-stat and now engine temps are about 8-10 degrees cooler and no more loud fan noise either. Truck seems to like it a lot better with it.I am also running the stock intake at this time. I haven't heard the valve chatter anymore as i am running 93 on the 87 and plan on switching up to the 93 for the first time, should be sweet!
