Custom Tune just as quick as a Canned tune?
So I've taking my truck out to the strip the last few weeks...adding some mods as I go! Last week I took it out and ran 13.993 @ 97.0 MPH with an SCT 93 Pre-Programmed tune, then this week I ran 14.109 @ 97.8 MPH with a tune from MPT! The conditions were the same (weather-wise), spark plugs gapped at 028. and 18 Psi tire pressure launching at about 1500 rpm.
I dont have anything negative to say about the MPT tune....it uped the boost from 16psi to 21psi, the shifts were nice and firm and the throttle response was crazy!
Why would I run slower? I was hoping for a couple tenths quicker ofcourse, so it is a bummer...but yea!
any thoughts?

Ambient air and track temps different each day? That'll make a big difference.

Same fuel station? Same track? The elevation air density is near 300' higher slip to slip. Maybe you had more head or cross winds. Things like that can all make a difference.
You also need to compare tunes on the same day not a week later if you want accurate comparisons.

You 100% had a worse start. By the time you hit 1/8, you were already faster than your last pass. Reaction time was even 3/10 faster with the MPT pass, so you absolutely had to have spun or something.

I understand the 60' is where I lost the majority of the time.
but even two tenths? I understand there are a lot of variables but I was expecting maybe 13.5/13.6 passes....expectaions were maybe a lil high

Reaction time means nothing unless running head to head. 60' is where you get the low et's.
At your trap speeds, I'd say .2 in the 60' would be at least .4-.5 in the quarter.
