Maybe I missed the part about the air dam, hard to hear where I am now but I under stand what aerodynamics are and how they work. The only thing I can see from looking at it, it MAY help push air into the IC but I'm not sure which is why I asked my original question.

Your correct it's MY truck and I care what it looks like. If I want to remove it then that's my decision and I'll deal with the problems that may or may not come up. Just as if you keep yours own that's YOUR decision.

it mentioned the chin spoiler but it looks like it was a lot smaller on the 2009 than it is today. I dont think Ford would have spent the money on the part if it served no function, the question is how much of an effect it actually has.

the underside of a vehicle is under appreciated as it relates to aerodynamics - the chin spoiler is designed to push moving air away from all the irregular surfaces under the truck that are crap for aerodynamics. In that video the air effect is clearly seen. By removing it you will reduce fuel mileage. How much, I have no idea, but again Ford put it there for a reason.

People do far worse things for fuel mileage (large tires/wheels, etc) so certainly you can do whatever you want, and making a big point about it being YOUR decision seems a bit odd, but if it makes you feel better....
Personally I think touches like that show a better engineered vehicle, and wouldn't think of removing it unless it was catching or breaking off-road. But to each his own.

I was able to watch the video again and was able to hear him explain what it does. Althought the one in the video is smaller than the one that is actually on my 12.

I just simply asked a question about what it was truely for. Not once did I saw I was going to remove it, but yes I did state that IMO it looks crappy and yes, it will most likely get broken the first time I go to my place in MS.

to be honest, the first thing I did on my nissan was remvoe the chin spoiler. I saw zero change in mileage.

Thanks I am still on the fence about it. Going to look into it some more, or I might just wait till it breaks off.

On a different note, I was reading the 5.0L oil catch can thread and saw them talking about oil getting into the intake manifold...do the EB's have one built in already or can you add the same ones that they are using on the 5.0's?

Yet again, (not being a dick), but if the engineers felt like the 5.0 or ecoboost should have an oil catch can on the engines; there would be one. I think that is another mod that is just scaring peopling into getting it. Cars have been running for how long without oil catch cans with no problems??? If you find oil in places that there shouldn't be then take it to your dealer and let them figure it out.

Sorry, by no means are you being a dick, I asked what people thought about the ideas and questions I had...and my apologies if I've come across as being defensive and a dick.

I was looking at the other thread and just figured it would be a good thing to have. Especially 100K miles down the road. Just a thought...still feeling things out. Only had the truck for a week so no purchases as of yet. Although i did put my towing mirrors from my 09 on it. Couldn't let the dealer steal those from me for nothing.

I didn't think you were being a dick, just didn't want you to think I was being a dick. I am just not a fan of the oil catch can, but to each his own.
