Cold weather...

I wouldn't want to love in Winnipeg... at least not outside when it's that cold. Indoors, next to a nice warm fireplace, maybe is a good place to love in Winnipeg. With a good-looking, well-endowed blonde to... Oh, sorry. I just realized you meant... live. Nevermind, I was getting carried away.

Wow!! If your in that kind of cold weather,, I don't think 15 minutes is gonna warm that engine up..But I found that as my truck warmed up and then dropped in rpm's, just like thermostat opening up..and it idled at 500rpms it shifted smooth into drive w/o any hop or jerk..But your in some serious cold..Thank goodness you got a block heater..

The engine will warm up much quicker than the tranny fluid. In the bitter cold weather (-20 to -40) we have had here this winter I have seen it take about a half hour of driving before the tranny fluid warms up to normal operating temp. Even though the engine coolant warms up reasonably quick while sitting idling, the tranny fluid will not.
I drive my truck very, very gentle until things start to warm up close to normal temps. And strongly suggest synthetic oil (still change at regular intervals)........if nothing else, for the cold startups alone!
