Took the truck in today with the solid "Check Engine".

Fixed!!!!

The solution ties in with another thread.

The service invoice states,

"Ran pin point DC16 test found the vent line in the turbo intercooler disconnected"

I told the technicians that it was a topic on the discussion boards and maybe the lines are not secured properly at the factory (clamped).

You guys have to understand this is still a mass produced vehicle. There will be problems. As long as they are handled well by the dealer and manufacturers, I am ok with them. Think of it this way, do you ever make mistakes at your job.....sure, does that mean you are worthless? probably not Imagine your boss saying "I pay 50k a year for Bill and he still makes mistakes?"

Default Check engine light

I have a 2011 F150 ecoboost 4x4 offroad super crew, bought it brand new about 3 weeks ago. The truck had 40 miles on it when purchased, at approx 300 miles i accelerated from about 45mph to 65mph and the truck started shuttering and vibrating, the check engine light started flashing for a few miles. After a few miles and a downhill it seemed to fix itself and the check engine light went out. Took it to the dealer and they told me it had moisture in one of the ignition coils? Truck now has approx 700 miles on it and the check engine light is on again this time solid, and has not went out. Same type of situation prevoked it. Goin in the shop today to find out what is going on. Any ideas? New truck with less than 800 miles in the shop twice kinda makes you sick, ya its under warranty but so what its a pain to deal with.

Blinking CEL generally means a Miss-fire occurred. Was your engine at temp when you accelerated?? The solid light could be due to a cat gone bad because of fuel getting dumped on it due to the miss-fire.

Got the truck back from the shop last night. Shop said it had a bad coil. Also said the coil was not available, they had to take one off of one the new ecoboosts' on the lot to fix mine. Check engine light is off, but i wont have a chance to drive it till saturday when i get off work. Havent put it in the same situation yet. Hopefully fixed. Well See.... Thanks

Mine does it too, it was a coil on #5 the first time in, then it was moisture the second time in, nothing was done, they are working on it!!! I got 8K on it. The next time it goes in for this is the last time I drive it home from the shop. This is BS.

Default 2012 EcoBoost temporary CEL and no power

Looks like several of you are experiencing the same issue. I had the same thing happen last night. I have 1500 miles on my new F150 and have noticed some very temporary loss of power issues while accelerating over the past few weeks but last light was the first time the CEL light started blinking and the engine experienced a lost power when I tried to pass another vehicle (engine rumbled like it was stalling). Needless to say this ain't good when you are trying to pass in traffic.

I maintained 50 - 55 mph for about a minute then the light stopped blinking and acceleration power was restored. Sounds like some of you are getting different answers from Ford on the cause of this issue. Have they figured it out or still working through the issue for a long term fix. I've owned several F150's (all V-8's) and have never had any issues like this before.

I will be contacting my dealer about this tomorrow. I'll let you know what answer I get.

Default F150 Ecoboost issues

I was driving in the rainstroms in southern Al this weekend, the engine misses at any mid to heavy acceleration. If hit hard it acts like it actally misfiring, CEL comes on, no power. Ambient temps was 74 degrees.

I understand there may be aTech Bulletin out with a band-aid fix. We'll see. I'll be talking to the local Service Manager.
