Default Check Engine Light Flashing

Well, it happened....that damn flashing check engine light came on tonight.

Going 60 MPH, barely stepped on the gas and got it to about 2,000-2,500 RPMs and the truck started violently shaking. This did it a few times and then the check engine light started flashing.

At one point I couldn't even step on the gas a little bit without it shaking like crazy.

The check engine light went off and so the shaking stopped.

I called the dealership and they thought it might be the TSB that needed to be completed on my truck

What are your guys' thoughts???

The other day I was pulling out of the parking lot at work and it felt like my tranny dropped...made a huge clunk but then we just fine after that. It was weird!

I'm concerned its something drastic...is it time to cut bait and trade it in?

Did it throw any codes? At least it did it at 59K instead of 61K. Has it ever had new plugs? Could be plugs, accumulation in the CAC or maybe even a clogged cat.

I'm taking it in today...in about an hour or so.

I also have the turbo squealing noise happening too. They are going to fix everything, I'm going to make sure.

Let us know what's going on, Blackout2012! If there are difficulties at the dealership, please send along your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number so I can get a case started. I've got my eyes peeled () for an update!

The dealership has the truck, said they will take care of it...

Then I walked out to the lot and fell in love.....

'14 FX4 Appearance Package (my choice between Blue Flame or White). They offered me a little more than I owe on my '12 FX4 base model and cut me a sweet deal. Now to make the decision....white or blue. I'm leaning towards white.

Also, do I ask them if they could get a Max Tow package Appearancd Package model in? Is it really worth it? Both trucks have the 3.55 rear end and mine has the 3.73. I tow a 7800lb camper about 10 times a year.

One may be available in your area ? Towing comes down to how far and how the geographic features are. If you towed to a neighboring State park 10 miles away and set it up there for a month one could get by with a lesser truck. Towing all day is a different cat.

Nice looking truck for sure. Did they ever tell you what was wrong with the other one?
