I think the feller used a bit too much, myself. I like yer q-tip method.

BTW - I love watchin' ol' Mak's vidyas !

Cheers!

So the general consensus is to use anti-seize? Do you maintain the same torque settings, or lower the torque value? Thanks!

Mornin'.

Well, the general consensus is - it's up to you. As good ol' Brian states in his vidya, you do not need it due to the nickel plating on the plugs. Ford does not use any when the plugs are installed at the factory.

However, Brian - and more than a few knowledgeable folks - favour a very small amount of high-temp nickel anti-seize on the threads to ease removal next plug change ( and on EB's that should be quite often - especially if tuned. Plugs are cheap - misfires can be costly ). Brian shows just how little to use in that vidya.

As fer torque - the 1/16-1/8-turn from fully hand-seated is a good metric if yer not going to use a torque wrench.

There is some good info on Denso's Iridium site.

http://densoiridium.com/installationguide.php

SP-534's are a 14mm tapered-seat plug.

Note that torque reduction is indicated by Denso when A/S is used.
