I have a 2011 FX4 Ecoboost. I'm wanting to remove the cats with stock exhaust for the sound and power gains. Dont wanna spend the money on an aftermarket down pipe. I hate the v6 rice sound but love the sound of the turbo. Can I cut the cats off and weld in pipe to delete them without the engine light coming on? What's the consequences?

If you eliminate the cats your check engine light will be on. If you go with a Livernois tune they can shut the light off. I would assume all the tune companies could do this too.
