Does the computer not "alter" the parameters when E85 is used? I guess what I'm asking is since the 5.0 uses variable intake and exhaust cam timing would it react different to E85 and thus change the overall power band (IE: better TQ or HP and different points) or would it just lift the numbers up the 15 HP and 10 TQ (before loss) evenly across the board?

I am not sure on this one. Someone with more tuning experience should answer this. I would assume it is across the board, but that is just an assumption.

Think of it like this, you have a 'tune' from the factory, it just isn't a very good one. The multi-fuel vehicles have the ability to adjust their tune based on sensor readings (sensing 87 vs 91 for example). Regardless of which fuel you use, it's a generic 'tune', it just switches within a certain set of parameters, not tailored for maximum output.

My impressions are a whole new truck with the boss intake kit. If I'm not careful I bark the tires with normal light accelerations.
I want a truck set up similar to yours. I want a 5 liter with the Boss intake, aFe air intake in place of stock air filter, the SVT tuner , and a performance exhaust system. I want the 3.55 rear axle and extended cab with 6 1/2 ft. bed.

Do you think i'll have any problems towing a 7600 lb. travel trailer with a 460 lb. motorcycle in the bed of the truck, over an 1100 mile distance of mainly flat terrain?

Thanks, Rye

I have more towing miles than not, and I bet you could tow that fine, but I would get 3.73's. Thats what I have and pulling 11k+ on flat terrain it never shifted out of 6th. 20+mph head wind on the way home it hunted between 5th and 6th. Overall mpg was 12.5, not bad. You will have 12-1500 lbs on tongue weight and motorcycle. I had about 2500, so I was way overloaded. That part will be fine.
All this was stock except exhaust. Everyday I pull 3-4k pounds and after the mods it pulls better and mpg's are up about 1. I cant wait for the headers and that will make this truck fly.

You might be able to pull it with 3.55's with the boss kit, but I would highly recommend 3.73's. Pulling mileage will probably be better with 3.73's, empty highway you might get 1 mpg better with 3.55's and in town most likely even. Plus your tow ratings will be higher with 3.73's. Good luck, and ask any questions you have.
