The airbox cover vibrates and the higher RPM's make it resonate thru the fender which meets the firewall and makes that annoying sound. It drove me nuts, I took it off. A.F.E. is aware of the problem and said they would send me a new part once they got with manufacturing and corrected the fitment.

My 6.2 aFe still doesn't rattle. There are reports from different manufacturers on different engines in this thread. Then you have others with the same setups saying there isn't when one says there is. This is to hard to point at any one thing.

Glad aFe said they identified an issue. Hope they get your rattle fixed.

Make sure you keep us posted if aFe does anything for this. I am so tired of the rattle and my wife can't even stand being in the truck if I get it to a certain RPM range. I was thinking about going out and seeing what I can do to the lid myself to try and seal it off more and give it a tighter fit.

Well here's my two cents... The source doesn't have to be where your hearing the rattle sound. It can travel through connection points to what ever isn't tight or secure. I have a 2011 stx with a Corsa CAI and a ram induction hood, there is an intermittent rattle especially when the engine and body are cold. Sometimes its from the right side of the dash especially when I mash the peddle, late afternoon after the sun has been hitting the body all day I get nothing. It could be coincidence but the earlier comment of taping up any dangling or loose wires seems to be the easiest fix although I hear a metal vibration not a plastic/taped sound.
