cai induction rattle
does any of yalls cai rattle the dash? I get a rattle somewhere behind the instrument cluster when I accelerate and was wondering if any of yall getting the same thing. I do have the cover on it that I got from Mike at 5 star. The cai that I have is the AFE stage 2. If it matters I am running sct on 91 octane.

LOL, I took it off! But that is me, I can't stand things like that. For the performance a CAI gives you, it wasn't worth it to me. It sounded bad ****, but the drone was too annoying for me.

Mine doesn't rattle under the dash but when I romp on it I can see where you might think it does. It is definitely a growl that resonates through the entire truck.
As far as drone goes I don't have any if I keep her out of the 2000 RPM range.

I have a rattle when it's running high idle (cold out) and I'm in gear. I can't tell if it's behind my dash or in the engine compartment, my guess is behind the dash but I don't want to tear it apart. Mines an Eco

Have a Airaid CAI and if the engine is lugging a bit and you're at 2K RPM, it will drone. A couple hundred above or below and you're fine.
Something you just have to put up with if you have a 5.0L and a CAI.

Rattle or vibration in dash
The good news is that you are not NUTS!! I had it the minute I installed my AFE C.A.I. It sounds like it's coming from right where the dash meets the windshield under a load or high RPM's. I spoke to A.F.E. about this and they said that their part that fits over the factory box was made a 1/4 of an inch shorter than it is supposed to be. The airbox cover vibrates and the higher RPM's make it resonate thru the fender which meets the firewall and makes that annoying sound. It drove me nuts, I took it off. A.F.E. is aware of the problem and said they would send me a new part once they got with manufacturing and corrected the fitment.
