Default Buying an EcoBoost, need advice on 2012 or 2013....

Plan on buying an EcoBoost and would like to know if there are any changes to the 2013 engines. I would like to get the current 2012 incentives, but would buy a 2013 if it is better.

Thanks in advance...

there are many small changes to the 2013 ecoboost 3.5L v6 engine. I recommend getting the 2013.

+1 .....can't wait to hear Geoff's detailed explanation of the extensive changes to the 2013 ecoboost engine......"none" may take a long time to explain in detail.

Mind elaborating?/Ditto others..

The only reason I can seeing going to the 2013 is faster response time from sync/my ford touch and possibly if you like the dash setup better with the nav and what not, of course there's the lights as well, but even at that the added cost...looking at the engine specs there exactly the same HP and Torque.

-camshaft position sensors moved from behind the motor to above valve covers
-pcv nipples moved to better locations on the valve covers
-new intercooler
-electronic bov (if youre leaving the truck stock this is a slight improvement)
-slight update to turbos
-fx gets new grille (blacked out c-clamp) and fx4 gets the raptor's hill descent control

the lights are definitely pretty cool, but none of this stuff is a deal breaker if you find a sweet deal on a 2012

Can you provide a source of this information?

Full Race is working with / for Ford to develope upgrades to the ecoboost. Massive upgrades. In order to do that, they have to know exactly any differences between years

Fight hard for a killer deal on a 2012 and save a lot of bucks to buy a tuner and save the rest! You won't get your best deal until you have your checkbook in your hand.... and start to walk towards the front door.... then the rubber meets the road! Stay in control of the negotiation and be willing to walk away! It's all just poker... so bluff hard!
