That's some pretty damming numbers right there, do you have any sort of professional group that you could compare numbers with? I'm curious if other fleet managers are seeing the same things.

Honestly. This sounds about right. The ecoboost will turn out to be a giant turd but it will have nothing to do with the turbos making both sides of 3 years of internet bickering wrong!

My son works in the Toronto winters on snow removal for a landscape company. I don't know how many trucks they run but he told me that they have replaced all the Ecoboost F150s with 5.0s. One of my brothers works for a small equipment manufacturer here in Ontario that has started doing the same. I really don't have any hard facts on failures with either fleet.

Neither engine is recommended for plowing....
Clutch packs are a known weakness in f150s for years. Same with diff leaks.

Most EB owners don't treat there truck like a fleet owner who uses the truck at a different work load daily. I think if he is posting the true info then it does show some issues as these truck are put to the test every day and how they hold up as the miles rack up. 80k is a lot of hard miles on a 2011 truck but according to Ford should be holding up better. But I think the EB was more designed for the ave joe who tows w/in spec and uses as DD. This is what I wanted to see was how does this engine/parts hold up as it nears the 100k mark and above,,Would it be up to the task and remain reliable/durable..As more owners start getting to the 100k mark we will see what issues they might uncover..

I am starting to become very disappointed with Ford......especially their attitude. It's starting to appear like they are only interested in bragging about how many trucks they sell and not focused on quality/reliability.
I have had 3 turbos go (which actually aren't that expensive to replace) but I am not certain I will add anymore eco's to the fleet......not this year anyway.
One thing for sure is.......F-150 ecoboosts are generally not a good choice in a large fleet application. Mainly because driver's like and enjoy the power and typically will rod the **** out of them. They don't care about the company's trucks and they will spin the tires frequently and you will be repairing the re-diff on a regular basis. Because of the way they drive them you really don't see fuel economy any better than the old 4.6 or 5.4 either (although they are capable of really good economy).
You're better off with less power in a fleet truck!

........all of our trucks carry between 500-1000lbs on a daily basis and I generated my own fleet maintenance schedule for drivers to follow.
Here is a sample of some of our service intervals.....
Oil change intervals are every 6000-8000km's
Transmission service intervals - every 70,000km's
Rear diff inspection and service (if required) - every 50,000km
Air filters - every 25,000km
tune-up (plugs) every 100,000km
.........I don't know what I can do to prevent these timing chains from breaking though????? And like I said - The replacement timing chain is thicker/stronger looking than the original. Not sure what the 2012's and 13's will have???

your right chris, you might be better off with the 3.7L engine to get job done..i can tell you if you drive the EB hard it sucks gas big time and you got no better gas mileage than a SD. Sorry to hear of mech issues with your fleet. I hope Ford stands behind its product and helps you with at least the parts. Makes you wish Ford offered a 150k warranty but at your failures they would be belly up..hope your able to get resolution..
