i have a 2011 fx4 screw eco having noise on cold start, sounds just like the video posted on here.been to the dealer once and they said it was my oil filter, changed to a ford filter still making the noise.i have 64,000 miles so im out of warranty.have to schedule another visit with the dealer.this really sucks,i really love my truck, but im losing my warm fuzzy feelings about the reliability.the timing chain is suppost to last a lot longer than 64,000 miles.my truck is all stock and all i pull with it is my 4500lb boat.this is my second f150 and it might be my last if i have to come out of pocket $1600.00.

Because they missed the problem on my first visit they eliminated the diagnostics fee on the second one. Not much, but saved me $100. My truck had the OE filter, so that wasn't a possibility. I'd try contacting the FordService and have her help. Be patient, but so far things have worked out for me. Truck gets torn down Monday and dealer offered to call me when it's apart so I could take a look.
I'm still not convinced it's the cam phaser, but I have to let them prove me wrong.

Eco-5.0-Eco again
Man, I hope FORD isolates a build date for the timing chains and makes good on repairs. My wife just went through the Chevy Equinox DI 2.4 engine debacle (tming chains, pistons/sleeves etc...). GM denied they had a problem and we eventually got rid of the turd. Of course after several thousand failures and complaints, they agreed to fix/replace many engines.
I hope this isn't the case with FORD.
Gotta love the doubters...until it happens to them.

She will take some information and then forward it to corporate. Another person from corporate, will call you and ask for the same information again. They will call the dealer and review the service records. They will then call you back. In my case, because the dealer found nothing wrong, they told me that there was nothing that could be done. Remember, the person from corporate only knows what the dealer told them. The first half of the process took several weeks. I had pretty much given up on FordService, but she asked how things were progressing. I had less than positive things to say, so she got things moving again. By this time the truck was getting worse, the person from corporate said to take it back. At this time, things really started to make progress we got a diagnosis and a couple of days later the person from corporate contacted me and made an offer.
One thing that stuck out to me, at one point the rep said, "We see that you have been a loyal Ford owner, so we're going to take care of you". This is the third Ford we've owned, so somehow that must have shown up and weighed in our favor when they made their offer to us.
