Default Blue Smoke EB

Every once in a while I get a puff of blue smoke under hard acceleration. I'm not overly concerned about it but was wondering how common it is.

Is it right when you hit the pedal? Is it consistent? How think and how long does it come out?

Pretty common, most EB's will do it under heavy acceleration to one extent or the other. Mine seems to do it the most after several miles of constant speed and then you give it the gas. Did it worse before it was tuned.

Just a puff when I put the hammer down.
Do the EB have a PCV?

Haha. It's just a puff, not a constant cloud.

Blue smoke means your are burning oil. I'd get that checked.

I have yet to hear of an EB that burns oil... I'm intrigued, and I'll stay tuned for your answer if you do get it checked out. Is your oil low?

I think all of them (to some degree) puff out black smoke once in a while, especially if the engine isn't warm yet. It's designed to run rich until the catalytic converters are heated to operating temperature. Take a look at your tailpipe. You can make a charcoal drawing with the amount of soot on the tailpipe.

I'm wondering if some folks that see a blue puff at WOT is just some accumulated oil in the IC getting blown through. I've nevered noticed on my truck and I know there is a little oil in the IC. I do see some carbon build-up getting blown out at WOT especially if I drive like an old lady for a few days.

The truck was cool. Kind of figured there was a build up of something somewhere that got blown out. That's why I wondering if the EB has a PCV valve.
Yes it has the requisite sooty tailpipe.
