Things like this happen to all engines. A friend of mind just had his new diesel blow up. The vast majority of the Eco motors are just fine. Do not be panicked like a bunch of sheep!

Old post is old but...really? Hahaha, this is too funny. Why would anybody want someone else's stuff to fail at all? Is the EB - V8 fight for real? People need to grow up.

If the Eco had turned out to be a flop it would have killed the resale on 2009 and up F150's because a lot of folks just pay attention to body style or name only. To them an F150 with an Eco is really no different than one with a 5.4, 5.0 or 3.7. If one is a failure they all are.

No, the EB in the *F150* (my emphasis added since you didn't read for comprehension the 1st time) is unique. All others are FWD and have a slightly different block, intake, different turbo, exhaust and intake plumbing.

All I can say is that I have had the pleasure to drive both the EcoBoost and my 5.0 and I personally will admit that I like both trucks. I know the EcoBoost is awesome cause it does get good MPG and it is very quick, but I'll always love my 5.0 more cause of the simple fact that I love the rumble and look I get from others after I step on the gas to pass them on the highway!

Inebriated 4 ur safety
You are right that it is an old post, but I still stand by those words from what I have heard on both sides. I even know a co-worker that has a 2011 F-150 (which I am not going to tell you his engine other than that it is not an EB) and he has been waiting for the day to be right and tell me I told you so. Yes, he is a cocky ***-hat anus that I am forced to work with, but luckily I am not in the office that much. I can't answer your question as to why someone would want someone else's stuff to fail because I ask myself the same question and not just about truck engine choices.
