I agree. I can only think of 3-4 over the years I've been on this board. Now for me a "blown" motor is one that has thrown a rod, spun a bearing or broke a piston. Maybe the OP's definition is something different.

My engine bent a connecting rod still ran fine but it had to get replaced at $11000 :'(

Lol, between here and .net there has been 4 in the last 3 months alone. And yes hole through the block. That seems to be the way these engines fail.

what were the signs if it still ran fine? I would consider that a failure if you want to add it to the poll.

It was knocking really bad. I drove it for 500km until ford ordered a new short block in. I did the poll already when it first was posted

Ok just curious, heard a recent truck that had a condensation shudder and now seems to lack power and almost sounds like a chipped diesel when the gas is first hit, then sounds fine by the time the turbos spool up.
