Blackstone oil analysis 5.0 Eneos 7,500
So I got my results from Blackstone. I was using a platinum napa filter with Eneos 5w-20 synthetic. The iron content was the only concern but I suppose it is expected when you have the worst Wisconsin winter in over 30 years. I have Pennzoil Platinum in it now with the same filter. I will probably check again then after the same interval.

That is a good report, look at the fuel levels....your below avg which is also good, not dilution. Iron is high which comes from the cylinders themselves, so that may be some residual from intial assy and ring seating. If you had fuel wash down from the cold start enrichment it will usually show in the lower section, and yours looks great.
Now, get an ecoboost owner to post one next to this and see all that is going on in it due to the flaw in the PCV system that does NOT evacuate the damaging compounds like the NA engines do and it will look totally different.

KILOFINAL - I do more frequent oil changes. Cheap insurance.

I put alot of 'soft' miles on my truck. I go about what Ford recommends. Right now, if I did it every 3,500 miles I would be doing it monthly! I also use premium oil and premium filter versus cheaper oil and filter twice as often. I am not sure what is more 'insurance' but to each their own. The oil analysis are kinda pricey too so it is kinda nice to extend the intervals. gdmoe, any reason you use 5w30 for the 5.0?

nihilus ... gdmoe, any reason you use 5w30 for the 5.0?
And ... Do a lot of extended, lot-a-miles-at-a-time highway driving and feel that the "30" may provide a slight increase in a margin of protection.
But HEY! I'm just a consumer (who does most of his own wrenching) that's been driving for 50 years (started early) and have put several millions of miles over that period without any engine related problems.
