I have the SCT Livewire, I don't have the "canned tunes" on it so I can't compare it to the custom tunes I have. I'm running the 91MPT Performance for daily driving and I have a 5* that I've used for towing, both have their strengths, the 5* feels like it's got more down low and the MPT is definitely a WOT throttle performer. I can chirp the tires in 4wd on a boosted launch with the MPT. I just picked up Unleashed tunes today and am currently loading one on the truck as I'm typing so I'll post on how that is. I would say both the 5* and the MPT leave things to be desired be it in power delivery or transmission performance. From the reading I've done I've yet to hear anything negative about the Livernois tunes in any aspect. Wish that was an option for the SCT, but I bought it because I wanted to have gauges displayed as well.

So in your option which is the better one for a good price?

^^^I thought I had it down to two but then I added livernois as a possibility. So Now I am starting to save for unleashed, Full-Race, or Livernois...I hope I can narrow it down by the time I'm ready.

If you are leaning toward SCT I would go for the Unleashed out of the three I have (5*, MPT). The tune from Unleashed is the best of both the 5* and MPT tunes I run. So far, it has solved some the issues I've had that were evident either stock or tuned. And Torrie's customer service is awesome.
I'm sure Full Race's tune will be a knockout too from what the dynos showed and their dedication to putting out quality stuff. I will probably add that to my collection eventually haha. It's a tough choice when there are more a few good tuners out there. I wish I knew someone in my area that ran the Livernois tune I could actually experience what its like.

The OP actually asked the question "which is the best tuner". Not who is the best tuner. From that I gather that he is trying to decide between; SCT (X3, Livewire, etc) , Hypertech (sure looks like Livernois uses that) Superchips, etc....

Just saying....

I will add that the various discussions about the various tuners are informative. It would be even more informative if you mention which tuner platform the tunes were written on/for.

IMHO, the SCT platform seems to be the most common with the various tuners. So if the OP would go with an SCT he could use tunes from mutiple tuners.

As long as it uploads the tune to the truck without issue, the hardware is worthless if the software on it doesn't work, kinda like saying I would want a burger because it has nice wrapping paper and not that it is a double all beef patty with loads of bacon... (sorry off topic I am starving at work haha).

I understand where youa re going with the hardware aspect of the question, but since he didnt correct us later in the comments I figured we were on the right path for answers.

I am honestly waiting to see how Full-Race releases their tuner package and prices before I decide if I want a second tune set. I am pretty happy with my Livernois package and no complaints tho.
